A Beach on Sanibel ( paintings, drawings and photographs) 2009)
Social anthropology of beach life in Sanibel.
I have tried to capture the experience of solitude in a beach environment. The overwhelming expanse of water and sand as well as the constant pounding of waves drowns out all inner patter. Individuals are left "being" rather than "doing". This conditions is thought of as "relaxation".
As the sand in Sanibel consists of powdered shells it has a very specific powdery grey tone.
